Thomas Grätz - Germany
The collection of works by the German artist Thomas Grätz will be on display in the art gallery of the Flamenco Dance Museum from the 21st of February until the 21st of May 2020. The city council of Nuremberg, together with the German Consulate in Malaga are actively participating in this cultural initiative to strengthen the ties between Flamenco and Germany.
It is not the first time that Thomas Grätz will exhibit his works, as he has a wide experience in the realization of exhibitions in different countries such as Germany, Spain, United States and Italy.
The works reflect a very different vision of flamenco. The author conveys the feeling of freedom that flamenco gives us through caricatured lines and always from the search for the quintessential human essence.
Thomas, who was born in Berlin and has lived in Andalusia for many years, specifically in the town of Chipiona since 1980, was fascinated by the culture of Al-Andalus and has internalised and expressed it in a fresh and groundbreaking way. With his works, he pays homage to flamenco and transforms it into a universal heritage, being recognised and honoured by the organisers of this exhibition.
