In the month of July, the Museum invited several Ukrainian families displaced by the war in Ukraine to discover more about the host culture of Andalusia.
Once again, the Flamenco Dance Museum took on a social commitment, this time in collaboration with the Social Integration Department of San Juan de Dios Hospital in Seville, offering a guided visit organised by Rosa Pazos, a social integration specialist at the hospital.
For these families, the visit was a meaningful opportunity to learn more about local culture, traditions and the historic landmarks of the city of Seville. Above all, they experienced the deep sense of hospitality for which the city is known, warmly conveyed by the museum staff. The group was guided by Sergy Ruby, an expert Russian-speaking guide, who led them through the interactive exhibition rooms, explaining in detail the history and events that connect the city of Seville with the ancient culture of flamenco.
The visit continued with a percussion workshop, a sensory experience that truly energized the group, led by flamenco singer and percussionist Vicente Gelo. Together, they enjoyed the rhythm and compás that define flamenco music.
At the end of the visit, the management of the Flamenco Dance Museum reaffirmed its commitment to developing and supporting an integration plan for Ukrainian refugees in the city of Seville.
